Bruno is the nicest of fellows and extremely knowledgable about Audis.
Im going to use it as a track car and occasionally street drive it recreationally just to keep it from rusting over(should be interesting). There aren't any SCCA pro-rally events here. But for the most part its going into "historical preservation storage".
Its nearly street legal. I have the cat and the street muffler which bolt on, but they're not on the car yet. I should have it registered and inspected by late next week. The car has a good working Air conditioner so its not too bad except in the hottest of days.

I asked Bruno that same question before I bought it. "Is it street legal? Its very important that I can register this car and drive it on public streets." His reply. "No problem, its registered in New York"
Since its based on an 83 UrQ unibody and has a VIN it can be registered as a plain jane 1983 UrQuattro with a fancy paint job. Its got working headlights, brake lights, turn signals, wipers, horn, hazards, All it needs is the correct exhaust.
Currently is has a 3" rally exhaust which is essentially a very small high flow muffler. The car came with a 3" bolt on street exhaust, but I don't have the cat midsection. Texas does an emissions check only for 83 cars which mean they do a visual check to see if the CAT is there. Doesn't matter if it works or not.
Bruno is sending a bolt on cat midsection. Once its on there I can get the car registered and inspected. I'll be able to switch between rally exhaust and street legal exhaust with a wrench. With or without the cat. Which is about 4 different exhaust combinations.
