Treser did something similar in the early eighties, although I believe he used an 8 port metering head with 3 ports blanked off. Don't bother replace it with EFI, I did and it has totally transformed the way my ur goes. Best money I ever spent.

I used one of their Luminition systems, it is based around RS2 injectors.
The kit consists of a new ecu, new engine loom and various sensors etc.
All in it came to about £2000.00GBP
I am now running 21psi and have not managed to wipe the smile of my face.
There are also a couple of guys in the UK who have made Motronic work on the 10v engine, similar costs to the Luminition.

http://www.quattronut.org/</a

We've discussed the EFI option in detail on the UK quattroforum. Try the link. I think it should answer most of your questions..

http://quattroforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=868&postdays=0&postorder=a sc&start=0</a
