Good Parts source in Munich or Stuttgart
I'm going to Stuttgart and Munich in mid August. I'm in the process of adding turbo parts to my 84 4000CS Quattro and would like to stop by and buy some parts from a well stocked Audi dealer where they might stock them. Any good leads. Any leads on used parts there would be great too.

Don't count on any dealers having parts for these old cars.
When it comes to parts at dealers, it is the same way there as it is here, the dealers only keep parts for the new cars on hand. The advantage is that when they order parts, the stuff is only a day or two away. If you do get parts, keep your receipts and make sure that you get the VAT refund form when you leave the country so you can get your 17% in taxes back. Also, make sure that you have part numbers if at all possible or be prepared to deal with some not too happy parts counter people who try to figure just what the heck you are asking for. BTDT.
While you are there, just the short ride north of Munich to Ingolstadt, the birthplace of your 4kq. The Audi factory there is very impressive. I would plan on taking a tour of the factory if at all possible. If you do go to Ingolstadt, you might also drop in on MTM in Wettstetten, it is just down the road from the Audi Werke.

For your factory tour...
You need to make a reservation. If you have to have your tour in English, they will charge you money BUT the advantage is that you generally get your own guide (unless there are other Engish speakers there the same time). Plan to spend almost all day there. We did the tour at 8am (took 2.5 hours or so - you see the A3 and A4 being built), then we spent another hour in the delivery center and then about 3 hours in the museum (which included two of us crawling UNDER Michele Mouton's rally car to check it out from underneath (very rusty) to the amusement of the docent.)
We also toured MTM the same day (late). Got a great tour, you'll be amazed how small the place is. Was allowed to sit in their factory S1 rally car (the one with all the wings) as well as check out the two SportQuattro's on the premises. They also had a stripped RS6 Avant shell they were turning into a race car and various other interesting stuff in the back shed.
If you have time in Stuttgart, schedule a tour of Porsche - fantastic. Mercedes is also right there, amazing to see the contrasts between the two operations.
If you get to the North of Germany, go to Autostadt in Wolfsburg, VAG's large car-freak amusement park. Fantastic museum and excellent displays in all of the manufacturer pavillions.
Have fun!
