Default So ....

is it just a simple matter of drilling a hole thru the case and installing a nipple? I've never taken apart a vented battery to see exactly how the 'venting' is laid out.

Default I wouldn't. There is a lot more in the design than simply a hole...

I found out the hard way that you don't want to take a battery that's designed to be vented and leave it plugged up. If it can't vent through the intended locations, it blows out acid in all kinds of inconvenient places.

The non-vented battery I had in there before just sat there and worried me, but it didn't try to eat the battery box ;-)

Default

1850mm sounds too long for the hose, isn't that 5 feet? I order thru BMW 1 meter.

Default In ETKA a lot of the hoses are listed with the length indicated=what's on a reel

but you typically buy it from dealers by the foot. I got all excited about how cheap 5 meters of WW hose was going to be on one parts web site before they explained that the $ shown was for only 1 foot :-(

ETKA will specify the correct installed length in a "shorten to" comment for some applications (take a look at the Euro headlight washer system for instance), but others like the battery vent tube will just say 'shorten if necessary' and leave you to figure it out on your own.
