Default Injector Cross Ref. ?

Hello Everyone!

I'm wondering if the CIS injectors in the urq WX are the same as in the 4K motors? Or similar to something else easy to source? (Who's got part No. Access?)

The thing is, my motor is really a 'mystery motor', and I'm not sure if I order the 'right' part from the dealer, I'll get the same injector as that's on the car.

I'm looking for a 'spare' injector to do troubleshooting, and don't want to buy another injector if I don't need one.

Downer is that I have a set of MC injectors, but already found that those injectors aren't the same...

Number on the suspect injector is 437 502 023 but dealer says it's not a good Audi number. Perhaps the Bosch part number?

Any idea what that translates to in the Audi part number world?

Thanks for any assistance on the "Audi Adventure"...!

This is not Audi number. It is Bosch number but you missing "0" on front of it. Should be 0 437 502 023 and it is right number. Injector from 4000 Quattro is 0 437 502 045 I belive and it is same flow injector as Urquattro but has on end of the tip shield with provision for O-ring. This must be removed ( it is press fit )for installation in Urquattro. They are also more expensive than Urquattro injectors. Audi part number for Urquattro injector is 049 133 551 A which is equal to Bosch part number 0 437 502 023.

Default Exactly what I was looking for!

>This is not Audi number.

So said the dealer too..

>It is Bosch number but you missing "0" on front >of it. Should be 0 437 502 023 and it is right >number.

Yes, now I'm looking at it, it has a '0' in front. Wasn't sure if that was important.

> Injector from 4000 Quattro is 0 437 502 045 I >belive and it is same flow injector as Urquattro >but has on end of the tip shield with provision >for O-ring. This must be removed ( it is press >fit )for installation in Urquattro.

Great! I can get loads of them. Should be good enough for my testing purposes.

>They are also more expensive than Urquattro >injectors.

Weird, but not surprising!

> Audi part number for Urquattro injector is 049 >133 551 A which is equal to Bosch part number 0 >437 502 023.

Good! So It looks like the right injectors are in the car. But they are running in a MC head & block, hence my worries about exactly what the correct injectors should be.

Thanks very much!

Default Re: Exactly what I was looking for!

Well, there are right way to do things and not so right. If I have to do it ....
1. MC engine Audi part number for injector is
035 133 551F which is Bosch 0 437 502 043
2. MC injectors are shielded and with small "O"
ring on the bottom of the tip to prevent
vacuum leaks around bottom ( bad idle and some
boost loses).
3. Fuel distributor is also diferent from Urquattro
4. Frequency valve is also different.
Now it is your call what to do.
I just do not understand whay you guys "love" this MC engines. WX is better engine, cylinder head specially.

What makes the WX better than the MC?

#1. Cylinder head ( solid lifters, more material
can be removed around ports ),
#2. Stronger cylinder block - more reinforecement
around main bearings.

Default Why Mc over WX?

In my case, it's because a previous owner had changed the motor to MC in a sort of half assed way..

They changed the block (Because it says MC on the number). Changed the head (hydraulic lifers) and the turbo (Water cooled).

But left the ECU and fuel distibutor WX!

So in my case, I wasn't really sure what injectors may have been installed in the motor.

But after looking at the MC injectors, (and gettin info from this forum) it's obvious that 'whoever' left all that the way it was.

So in my case, I'm running MC because that's what the urq came with.

One reason to run MC may be because of problems with the WX that are just not cost effective to sort out (Say perhaps the head gets a bad crack?).

THat and parts availability for the MC is much better.

For a 'normal' user, the MC may work just fine.
F
or a full tilt 'done' motor, you make a very good case for staying with the WX bits!
