Default misc brake stuff

Is there a good source to get rear rotors, calipers, parking brake cables, and pads? How about new versus remanufactured?
thanks - the receipts just keep on building.

Default Rear Brakes

Isn't converting the rear brakes (swapping only calipers and parking brake cables) to 4000q bits an easy change or 'modernization' on a urq?

Is it true it's as easy as that?

If so, parts should be way easier to get.

And aren't the front brakes same as one of the 5000 models? Tre? Any idea of what 5000 to ask for at the parts coounter?

I honestly have no idea if that's the case - by modernization do you mean better performance and gasp!..... cheaper? That would be a change of pace.

Default Good upgrade is the rear setup from an UrS4/6. G60's are good for the front. Cheap used.

Check the UrS forum for used sets of both before trying the parts houses.

Now that I think about it, maybe I am jumping the gun a little. I took my car out of storage recently and the parking brake was stuck on. It does not seem to want to free itself, even with movement and usage of the brakes. Is this typically a sign that the cable and the calipers are pretty well frozen and done for(replacing everything)? Is there any method for unsticking it, at least for now so I can move it?

Thanks -

You can crawl under the car, and with a hammer or prybar (and can of lube/oil) move the e-brake lever arm on the calipers so that the cables are NOT pulling. I did this (and didn't use my ebrake) for a few weeks before I replaced the caliper.
