Default Moon Roof Adjustment

1.I had my audi mechanic install a new seal on my 83 TQC moon roof and was hoping that they could get the panel adjusted to seat in the back. Please note they know TQCs and worked on my old one for a number of years. The mechanic said they tried everything to get it adjusted and it is set at the lowest setting for the rear to be down. Are there any tricks to get the rear down where it stops wind noise? The car has no body damage so I am not sure what is happening. The shop owner did comment on how clean the car was and the MC motor runs very strong -he took it for a ride. This is the one I bought form the Flaggs in Vermont.
2. Does anyone have a working mirror adjustment switch they want to sell?

Default Dunno about the sunroof, but the mirror adjuster switch is probably just dirty...

With where they are located all the crud in the area gets funneled right into the switch. I'd spray in some contact cleaner or carefully disassemble the switch, clean it and reassemble. The internals rarely fail in my experience- they just get too dirty to work consistently.

Default Sunroof

Do you by chance have a picture as to how much the rear of the roof is off by? IIRC the rear of the roof is supposed to sit just SLIGHTLY higher than the front. This is the Bentley and the OEM sunroof troubleshooting manual I have.

That being said even with the reference materials I have I could never get my 4ktq sunroof just right after 4-5 years.

If you purchased the seal from Audi (U.S) in the last 5 years; it won't fit properly. It is thicker than the original and keeps the rear edge up. I was able to get NOS from the mothership a couple of years back and the roof panel is even with the hatch. They may still be available. Regards, Peter

Default The roof in my cgt does the same thing I've even tried it w/o the seal

& it still won't close all the way unless I push it down. I think the cables may be stretched or worn.
