Removing Instrument Cluster on '83

There are some connections on the back of my instrument cluster that seem to be soldered on protruding pairs of flat pins numbered 1, 8, and 10 (there are all numbers 1-10 but the rest are unused.) To disconnect these do I cut the wires and resolder them when needed or do they unplug?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I don't remember anything that wouldn't come apart when I took the cluster out on my 83.
But then, it is a 'late' 83, with the underhood fusebox.
I did find there were a few lights that were hardwired to their own sockets. I had to remove the light sockets separately from the cluster (and had to remember where to put them back again too!)

I found out what I was talking about was the indicator lights, probably what you're talking about too. How did you remove the light sockets separately from the cluster?

To remove the lights (well, the light 'sockets'), you turn them ~45 to ~90 degrees counterclockwise. Almost impossible to turn them with your fingers, so I use a small pair of pliers.
And of course... "Assembly is reverse of removal"!
If you look at the back of the cluster, not all of the indicator light holes may be filled. You can see on the empty ones the shape of the hole, that the light socket has to be turned to, to match up, so they can come loose from the cluster.
Once you get one, you'll see what I mean.
And don't forget to make note of what light goes in what hole, for when you go to put things back together. (BT, Didn't do it..)
