They do pop up. I know of at least 2 that were for sale within the last 6 months. Don't know if either sold. Cost was somewhere between 60-75 big ones each. Are you serious about buying? Because there are several places where thay are MUCH more likely to be advertised than here.

Jim,

I'm interested in knowing where I could find a Sport Quattro. Please let me know where I might find one -- white or red preferably.

Thanks,
Mike

There are about 11 SQs in the USA. One owner has 4 in the MN area, there are 3 on the west coast, supposedly 2 in Indiana, one in the east and one in the Audi museum in MI.

Only one is potentially for sale, last asking price was $80K but it cannot be driven on the public roads and has been imported for competition purposes only. Accordingly it does not have a title.

It is very difficult to import on of these cars under the current regs. There are ways, but it requires a great deal of time by a private owner as both DOT and the EPA are not overly cooperative with commercial importers who they deem to be doing this for gain rather than collector value.

They can be acquired in Europe from time to time at prices from $45K to $200K for an original S1.

There were two in the central Ohio area back in the late eighties - 1 Red, 1 Green. From what I recall, the gentlemen owned one of the local Porsche/Audi dealerships. I haven't either one for several years.

Thanks for the response. Please let me know if you come across the contact information of one for sale.
