Default Varying Tread Depth and Effects on Driveline

Because of sidewall damage, I had to replace one tire. I decided to replace two. My question; Given that I will have two new tires and 2 slightly used tires (est 5000 miles) will the difference in tread depth between the front and rear have adverse effects on the Quattro system?
Car; 1984 urq
Tires; Dunlop SP Sport 5000 P215/50ZR/15

Thanks,

Just talked to a service writer in an Audi dealership. He said the tolerance is 5/32 between tires. Comments?

I guess I better get off my butt and get a Bently manual.

I can tell you that a 3.89 front r/p with a 4.11 rear locks up the car - btdt
