Well, my girlfriend got the ride of her life last night ;-) . . .

And I wasn't even involved!
If any of you remember, Shokan's A2 blew a headgasket after the first half of their time trial (in which they had set a new record at the halfway mark for the Hillclimb)at the Mt. Washington Hillcimb in '99, Frank Sprongl was the driver. after the end of the race, it was found that the failure in the head gasket caused damage to the motor and it was in need of repair. They sent it of to Lehmann himself and the motor has finally made its way back into the A2's chassis last night.
So after the motor was installed and everything was checked over to make sure all was good, the car started on it's first crank (have a 17M video w/sound :-) of that first time that motor has started in over 6 years - James, are you willing to host?).
Here she is, with John, owner of Shokan, driving out of the garage, looking happy, not knowing just how hard the boost will shove her back in her seat.
<img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/YumyJager/auto/A2rallye010.jpg">
This is her after the quick lap around Shokan's yard, scared sh!tless.
<img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/YumyJager/auto/A2rallye011.jpg">
She was all smiles after that ride, and she wants more!
Funny thing is she hates my WOT runs in my UrS4 when she's in he passenger seat. but all she talked about after her ride was how fun it was.
I'll snap some pics off tonight after they wash the beast up and change the oil over to 5-50W as Lehmann requires. I hope I can get my ride tonight as well ;-)

The pinstriping. White door trim paint. The VAG mirrors instead of the bullets. Holes in the hood. And a 20V conversion.
Your GF doesn't have a perma-grin on her face after the ride.

It's factory original, or so I've been told, never restored after it was retired. Also, it has the hillclimb suspension set up, as it was the only (?) A2 designed to do hillclimbs? I think I was told it was 6 of 8? I also have a picture of the VIN number, that I'll send to you personally only.
If you have AOL Instant Messneger I can send you the video over that, other than taht method I'm not sure how I'll send it.

There are some non-original things done to the car. Nothing serious, but just kinda how Bruno built his cars.
What other pictures do you have?

Looking at that pic got me thinking. Next time you look under the hood glance at the distributor cap. See if it is held on by clips or screws. If it's screws, see if they know of a source for a replacement. That's the style I have on the 90, and I can't find either a cap or rotor. They're a different part than the regular 5 cyl pieces. Unobtainium.
Send me the VIN if you could too. I'm trying to come up with sort of a registry of sorts. Everytime I see a pic of a GroupB car I try to make notes of specific details to differentiate them, and keep track of where they are.

The VAG mirrors are a dead give away. They are far superior to the Bullet mirrors that Audi used. You can't see anything from the bullets. The one's on Brunos cars are adjustable and you can actually see something out the back.
Bruno's cars are always white door trim paint instead of black. There is red pin striping all over the car.
The hoods are holed for air ventilation. This is probably a good thing that I won't fix. The amount of heat let out by the holes is Huge.
Bruno used a different door. They had a triangle vent windows similar to an 81 Coupe. The doors were metal skin with a kevlar interior. All 3 of his cars have this very particular looking door.
