I spoke to Bosch and gave them the part number on the cap and rotor.
They told me that it was a bad part number. I told them I was holding the cap in hand reading them the number, and they kept insisting I was wrong. I even took a picture and emailed it to them. The best they could say then was that they had no information on the part.
I spoke to a guy in the UK, that James put me in touch with. He has the same parts on his A1/A2, unfortunately he was just as unsuccessful at getting parts too.

That buffum's car is an A1 factory built car (group 4 Europe, Open here) that got shipped here for US rallying. He had Audi support when he ran in the early 80s. The car is largely unchanged from what you are calling "A1" which is Euro Spec, but there were some modifications to make is SCCA legal. Its also the oldest original rally Quattro in the United States.
It has original A1 build all over it. (Alum body panels, Steelie suspension, Pierburg).
The only car built here by a US crew is mine, and that is IMO an excellent copy-cat job on par with a Sutton built car. The others are imported as complete working cars and then maintained, modified or upgraded here.

"In 1982, however, when Audi supplied Buffum and Shepherd with its new Audi Quattro racers, they were unstoppable. Millen would get a faster RX-7, and Buffum would counter with Quattro A2, then a Sport Quattro and up the ante again. He would also rally occasionally in Europe, where, in 1983, he became the first and only American to win a European Championship event (1983 Sachs Rally in Germany and the 1984 ERC event in Cyprus)."
I've got some pics of Buffums Sport Quattro (S1E1) somewhere.
His A1 is still his. I don't know where the A2 is. Bruno also got a factory A2 in 1984. Those are the three cars if you ask me.
Buffum's A1 still original.
Shokans A2 with 10V but S1 suspension
Sprongls A2 with 20V upgrade put in by Bruno. That 10V went into Sprongls S2.
Everything else here is not-original.

Anyone know where that car is now?
It was not built in the US although it somehow had to be street legal to enter a US rally. Audi somehow fudged that one.

but when I talked to him a little while ago about his ES2, he said it was sitting right next to Michele's old car. Not sure which one though. I suppose I could ask him. I wanted to call him about a spare flywheel he had sitting under his bench anyways.
