It's a secret :-P
Just kidding. This time I went cheap, real cheap. I figured that since I go through a set a year, why not. I got Nexen N3000 (225/45 ZR17 91W) from tire-easy.com. They were the cheapest summer tires I could find with decent reviews. I paid $61.40 + shipping each, but the price must fluctuate on the Asian market because I see them listed now for $55.70 each. I must've bought them on a bad day. I will refuse to review them until I put several thousand miles on them except to say they look like good quality tires. I find that all tires feel better when new hence my waiting period for a review.
Some of my past tires (all a/s btw, no more from now on):
Dunlop stock whatever-they-where tires: never liked them
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S: loved them, can't say anything bad about them, too expensive for me
Khumo Ecsta ASX A/S: very nice for the first two-thirds of tread life, useless after that except on dry pavement, quiet, comfortable, and confident riding
Avon Tech M550 A/S: they got grip but were harsh, noisy and tram-lined badly, couldn't wait for them to wear out

http://www.tires-easy.com/start.html</a

I've found about a 1/3 into the life of a tire is when it really comes alive
my Dunlop SP Sport MAXX were horrible for the first 500-1000 miles. At 5000 miles in (which is probably 1/3 of their life), they are decent. But I won't be getting them again.

That is damn cheap, but I already know
they're only good for 2/3 of their tread life and I no longer want all-season tires. Great news for anyone looking for them though.
