Default The Absurdity - Costco Superior Tire Store

Ok, so check this out. I've been running Pilot Sport A/S 245/50 ZR17's on my 01' Allroad since the OEM Pirelli's died a year after I bought the car. Costco in Superior installed the last set for me.

Well, I looked at my tires the other days and they're looking tired, so I thought I'd get a new set of tires. I call the shop and the manager tells me he can only install 225/55-17's on my car because they only install OEM sizes on cars - that it's their "policy". Ummm, you installed the ones on my car what policy? Sorry sir, can't do it.

OMFG this is so silly. Anyone else encounter this?

Default Yep!

They also will not put on any tires for you unless you purchase from them. IE: snow tires. On the positive side, they have a great return policy. I bought some Pilot sports last year from them, and after 8k of pulling they gave me a full refund. 225/55/17's don't agree with the AR. Just go to Discount tire ( 92/Wadsworth) The sales mgr ( Mike) is back at that shop and will take care of you, plus free road force balance.

Take the rims off your car and take them in. Don't tell them what car they are for.

Not worth it their prices have clearly gone up on tires. They used to be about the same as drop shipping them from TireRack - not any longer.

Too bad Costco is a socially responsible company that does good things for it's employees and respects them - I support the company whenever I can - but not when they have brain-dead policies...
