i just need someone to confirm for me that an update would cure all of this. i love the V1, and it worked well in the past, but i'm leaning toward an escort down the road.

1) The "guns" you saw the cops pointing at you (or at the guy who was a 1/4 mile ahead) might have been laser. Any detector is very unreliable at picking up laser even if it is pointed right at you since it has little spread. They might have been bouncing the laser off your license plate and you might not pick it up. If the cop was holding it up to his eye and very carefully aiming it was probably laser.
2) You might have unknowingly turned off your X band detection, which would dramatically lower your bogeys on many stationary sources like signs and store door openers.

like Infinity etc. I'm thinking they have some sort of laser for super duper extra dumb**** cruise control - warning when they get too close to another car - or maybe it's for anticipating need for airbags....whatever - sometimes I'm driving behind one and the laser detector (V1) goes off every few seconds...you can see little "eyes" in the bumpers...

However, if I sent them my V1 back, a brand new one would be $279.
They also said there wasn't any real difference between the new ones and mine, with the exception of POP.
