Any downside to tinting?
I'm considering getting my allroad tinted and I was wondering if there are any downsides to be cosidering? Any gotchas or other things to be aware of? How is the scratch resistance? Anything special you need to do for cleaning the post-tint windows?
Appreciate all your feedback- Scott

No downsides as far as I'm concerned - unless you get it too dark, then it becomes hard to...
see out at night.
Scratches can happen, although they typically don't happen if you are careful with the placement of your loads.
Also, never clean with windex or any kind of cleaning spray on the tint itself - use a rag with water or *maybe* a little bit of dish soap (very little bit).
Tint always looks good - it helps smooth out the lines on the vehicle!

As the resident anti-tinting crusader I must raise my hand.
I hate the lack of visibility I have through other people's tinted vehicles. Please do not!

Spirited AWOT discussion on the topic

Honestly, the only time I've gotten a scratch in my tint (even with dogs/kids) has been...
when I had put my hockey sticks in the trunk without paying attention to where they were rubbing, and they rubbed a very small "scratch" into the film. I didn't even notice it until I was detailing the car.
I couldn't even see it from the outside. I think it will be fine ;O)

Yes, if they're not tinted. Particularly traffic lights, hills, and the like are obvious cases, but
even just that a line of traffic ahead is putting on its brakes.

Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. If I'm in my car and a semi truck or cargo van or even a..
pickup gets in front of me, I can't see ahead of them. The best thing to do in this scenario is to give adequate space between yourself and the vehicle in front of you in case you need room to stop quickly.
I think this is what you mean, right? You want to be able to see from behind the vehicle you are following?
