elusive wind noise on drivers side can anyone offer any ideas to remedy?

We purchsed a used 2002 A4 3.0 sport package with 14,000 miles and I noticed that the wind noise is louder than I would have thought for an Audi. I have been searching extensively through the posts but have not found too many answers to this problem. I maybe searching in the wrong area or wrong words (wind noise).
I have read about adjusting the doors but they seem to be in the correct position. I also saw the post concerning rubber tubing placed in the frame to alleviate the noise. Which I am going to try after this post.
Can anyone shed any light on this situation or point my search in a more rewarding direction.
Thank you.
