Got a ticket for running a stop sign that has a green light next to it! Still dumbfounded!
I was exiting off of I25 south to garden of the gods where there is a traffic light that you can either go straight and turn right or just merge right. Light was green so I go through it and soon as I do I am pulled over.
I have no clue to why I was stopped, as I wasn't speeding so I was in shock when I was told I ran a stop sign! I just feel like I was wronged with this. Why the heck is there a traffic light (again, it was green), and also a stop sign?
Anyone know of what I'm talking about at this intersection?
I really feel like it is a really poor setup and that I didn't deserve this ticket, can anyone lend advice or someone that can legally help?
This totally ruined my morning...

There is the same type of setup
going from 6th to Colorado Blvd SB. If the light is green you still have to stop at the stop sign. They put a stop because people blow through Yield signs and a number of accidents occurred historically.

The thing that really burns me is that I drive to the t and dot the i's, and had no intention
of running a stop sign had I better understood this. Just doesn't seem like a logical setup.

the police need the revenue. No way you're going to win.
I thought there was no way I could get a ticket for obeying the posted speed limit. But oh lordy was I wrong!! ticket for going "too fast for conditions" whatever that means. They will get you, and the judge is on their side.

I beat a 'too fast for conditions' ticket here in Utah
was snowing (2-3 inches of wet/slushy snow on the ground). Cop was doing 40mph on a 65mph interstate. I was doing 45mph as I passed him.
He pulled me over, gave me that ticket. I fought claiming: snow tires, AWD, and winter driver training. Ticket got dismissed.
