Can confirm, Colorado has the worst drivers
there was a poll taken a couple of years back sponsered by one of the trucking websites. 25K respondents, Colorado ranked 1st or 2nd in 5 categories regarding drivers. Overall, we were ranked the worst drivers in the nation, beating out Texas and Cali. by several hundred votes. Aggressive driving, Failure to signal, and lack of attention were the three that we ranked first in.
At least in Texas they understand the concept of a turn signal

I see more consistant turnsignal use here than any other state I've visited.
Maybe folks here just don't appreciate rigs. Case in point, the recent incident on I-70 where a load of cattle intestines was lost, due to a car cutting off the rig. I'll bet the neighborhood near there is glad it's still winter.
You rig masters have my respect though. My dad's retired from Detroit Diesel.

No doubt, transplants!
This place was so different up until about the mid-eighties. All downhill from there. Who can say S P R A W L. Raise you hand if you contributed by getting a brand new house.
I am SO GLAD I don't have to go and play commuter with everyone else.
E-Commuter is the way to go, ha!!

To address the blinker situation....
Blinkers were not standard on cars in Colorado until 1993. Then there was the blinker fluid shortages of 1997 and 1999 (Y2K concerns). So as you can see the history of the blinker in Colorado has been short and full of difficult times.
The new millenium has brought on a need for greater blinker awareness, for every 3 blinkers not being used there is one being left on for 5 miles. This waste of resources makes it difficult for everyone to use blinkers as some people tend to use up more than their fair share of blinker usage.
My recommendation, if you see someone not using their blinker, understand that because of those wasteful people that leave their blinkers on for countless miles they have no choice but to not use their blinker.
Pray for the blinkers.

It's the Force Field around Colorado.....
In '01, I was making weekly runs from Denver to the Port of Houston. On one trip I noticed something funny that made me really laugh.
Just outside Amarillo, Tx. I started to follow this older couple in a pickup pulling travel trailer. Every time they would change lanes or pass someone, the guy would use his turn signal. The stretch on 287 from Boise City, Ok to Springfield, Co is narrow 2 lane. As soon as we crossed into Colorado, he stopped using his turnsignal when changing lanes or passing.
It was at that time that I realized that there is a force field around the state of Colorado that prevents "weak" people from using their turn signals. You have to be of strong mind, body, and hand in order to continue to use your turn signal.
