HELP - looking for machine shop to extract broken stud from turbo...

Default HELP - looking for machine shop to extract broken stud from turbo...

I have a K04 that has a broken stud, have tried an extractor and it broke inside the stud
any reccommendations on a QUALITY machine shop to get this stud out w/o damaging turbo??

Default Call Terry at Colorado Automotive Machine @ 303-789-7552.....

...if he can't do it, he uses a place that can take it out with an E.D.M. (Electronic Discharge Machine) that will just destroy the stud without touching the turbo. Expect something like $25-30 if Terry does it and $50-60 if it needs to go the E.D.M.

Default Thank you!!! Terry could not do it, but.. he sent me to Denver Mill and ..

Lathe and they do have an E.D.M. So will take care of this tomm. and then reinstall turbo.

Default Sinker EDM FTW! Hope it's cheap!....BTW is helicoiling an option?

Just wondering. It may make a difference when they're bidding this job out.

Default Russ @ Denver Mill said $35-60. worth it to me to not have to ...

drill further and helicoil. I don't want any issues in the future with this turbo.

Drill out all material, then retap the threads...APS had to do that to mine it work perfectly
