Default Lovely rotors,,,

Wanted to replace the rotors today,.,., ( I just need to remove calipers, right?)
Looks like they are seized on the hub, can't move them.
Anything like that happen to you b4?
If so, what do you do?
I had Modern Specialist in Boulder replace the OEM with slotted ATE & EBC green pads 8k miles ago. Rotors are so..o..o..o..o warped now, and the pads are worn out. I did bed the pads also, (just in case ur wondering);.
Is it the pads or me?
Also, 1,5k ago I replace the brake fluid with regular synthethic brake dot 4-5 fluid and it's all black now. Any comments?
I have an A6 2.8q, (over 5 years now)great wonderfull car, no prblems, but the brakes..., so frustating.
I will appreciate any comments on after market rotors & pads for the A6 (288 mm rotors). (also what kind of brake fluid is good), and also how to remove the rotors.
Anybody replaced their OEM rotors/calipers with TT calipers/322mm rotors ( originally the a6 98 came with a 288 mm rotor) with the 16" original whell on their A6? heard it's possible to do, but hard to believe.
Any comments appreciated.
Thanks

Did you try and hit it (hard) with a rubber mallet?

Default Here is a quick way to loosen the rotor. Quite simple too.

All you need to do is put it all back together and back the lug bolts off about a turn or so (not too much though), so the wheels are loose and therefore the rotor is no longer being clamped to the hub. Back the car up, hit the brakes. Repeat going forward. This can be done in your driveway, as it doesn't take much.

I did this on an old 5ktq from WI that had the rotors badly rusted to the hubs. After banging on them with various instruments of destruction, a friend recommended this method. Worked like a charm.

YMMV of course.

Default sorry for the stupid question...but you removed the caliper brackets too, right?

If you're just throwing the rotors away anyway, go at them as hard as you can with a hammer.
