Default Go to Babies R Us and check out the one on display and see if you like...

I have read nothing but good reviews about the Recaro especially with regards to the Side Impact Protection.

If you like it find it online for cheaper.

Amazon.com and Ebay has 'em.

Van!

Default I don't know how much the parts are, but it's only 2 bolts per bracket. DIY in 15 minutes tops.

I had the retrofit done on my Passat years back. There are 2 brackets L & R (I think the same bracket used twice). Each bracket has 2 mounting points that piggyback on the seatbelt anchors - you just take out the existing bolts, put the brackets in place, then reinstall the bolts.

BTW, mine is the Recaro Signo. The Recaro Como is a little less pricey but less features.

Default Just a local shop that does everything on all cars....one of those.....theyare

just a "do it all" "Acura - Volvo" type place. They did have an Audi Tech but really you remove the back seat, screw in two bolts each and viola! But, I like having someone to blame if it does not fit right.

Yeh, from what I've read, seems pretty easy. If Prestige won't do it, I'll take a stab at it myself.

Default Prestige retrofitted my 01 S4 for free a few years ago

Someone recently went to a dealer and it sounded like they are charging now.

Default Beware of Prestige pricing on those!

The free program was long gone in June '07 for our '99 A6. When I was transferred to the parts department at Prestige, I was quoted 3x what the parts really cost (about $27)

A friend who worked for Osborn got them for me.
Part numbers are: (for the C5 anyway)
x2 ZAW269005 - the latches
x2 443.887.269 - upper tether bracket (seat backs)

The rest of the part numbers are bolts & washers, and plastic caps for the seat backs. Our Britax is nearly impossible to unclip if you leave the plastic cap on the seat back.

I think I have a couple extra of those "guidance fixtures" - they snap onto the latch for easy access.
