Default Okay... who wants to let me borrow 2 wheels... fvcking emissions nonsense

so finally my car is running well enough to pass emissions, and I pull up to the enivrotest in castle rock...

"sir, your tires are too low profile to run on the emissions rollers"

me> "so what do you do with people who have brand new Porches, Dodge Vipers, Corvettes etc with 18, 19, an 20 inch wheels from the factory? Do you just not test them?

"well your tires are too low profile"

fine... I leave...I need to borrow some 16's, for like a day, at most just to test. What a nightmare...

Why not go to a dealer - fixed fee by the state for emissions.

Default I have the OEM 15's you can use anytime

I am in Aurora near 225 and mississippi. I had to mount them also to get on the rollers. Seems ridiculous to me considering how many cars have low pro tires these days. Not sure if 15's will clear your brakes if they are nonstock though. Just e-mail me at ashok.babu@uchsc.edu

Default Experienced same BS.

Not with the Audi, but with my old truck. I showed up with 35" tires and the largest allowable is 34". Of course they didn't tell me this until AFTER I had been in line for an hour.

I didn't get thru emission until after my 4th visit. :/

I HATE emissions testing.

Default That's rediculous. What are they going to say when I have to do my car?

Grom the factory with 265/35/19's on the driving wheels.

Default standard CYA practice...

I've gotten that & "your car is too low". So every two years with the non-audi, I put on my 195/60-14's for the test and never have a problem.
