Some of you probably saw my prior post regarding my quest for a saltwater lap swimming pool in or near Parker. So far the closest place i have found is the Colorado Athletic Club off Inverness Drive. Great facility, really clean, friendly staff, and a nice pool. Have been going there and really like it. If I find something closer I will post up.

I will say that while the pool *is* better than a regular chlorine pool, I still do notice a chlorine smell on myself as well as my boardshorts.... My skin doesnt seem to be nearly as irritated, nor my hair quite as nasty..... a marked improvement anyways, but perhaps not perfection.....yet

.... you can still detect it's presence. the chlorine is created and broken down within the salt system, though, same way the ocean does it, and i prefer salt systems for pools, especially warm pools.

the problem is that for a 'public' pool, the owner is pwned by the health department, and by the liability climate in this country, to err on the side of over-sanitized. <i>(which is likely a good thing in many pools' circumstances)</i>

some salt pools may even get occasional addition of actual chlorine product, to boost chlorine level, or 'shock' a pool that's going south.
