Default so after watching the new top gear where they were in search of 'the perfect driving road'

i went up to brainard lake today to hike around, enjoying my familiar route from boulder through nederland. on the way back, i decided to wander down through ward and ended up riding left hand canyon down to 36. and if you haven't done this one yet, you really need to get out there. its a 35mph speed limit, but full of continuously winding curves on new asphalt that are wonderful at higher speeds. it was 6pm or so on a monday night and traffic was minimal, i only had to pass one car the entire time.

so lets here it...what are the best enthusiast driving roads in colorado...all factors: speed limit(rather, how much you have risk) road condition, and traffic conditions are to be considered.

Default left hand is a bad road to speed on

lot and lots of cyclists, many of whom are too stupid or stubborn to ride single file. cars often cross the centerline in turns.

I'd personally pick Coal Creek Canyon, though there are other better ones further up in the mountains.

Default Highway 131 between Wolcott and Toponas

...this is the best. No cars, no peds, no cycles. However, don't even think about it at dusk/night due to the deer...

Also, CR129 between Steamboat Springs and Columbine ,CO. This one is amazing...

I've had some fun on Trail Ridge too, but that was bad judgement!

Agreed. Funny how bicyclists whine about sharing the road, but can't do it themselves

Default where best stretch to test top speed?

i've done 120+ on south bound i225 after 2am once. well lighted and wide to spot any obstacles ahead of time (including PO with aid of detector). specifically by parker, as its kindof downward sloped.

Default HWY 24 heading west past Wilkerson Pass for straight line speed

Miles of open straight roads, and always being able to see whats coming up on the road.

Oh and since youre slow like me, if you have a chip, you should be able to hit 135-140 without a problem. With the right tires of course.
