While I don't like the law, understand it's intent. That said, I think that officers can use a better discretion on the vehicles they stop for this violation.

5 points, Montghetto, Aurora, and a few other parts of Denver, the type crowd, have a propensity towards violence, and some of the things they do with vehicles is to hide the illegal activities going on. I know that Brighton specifically uses window tint and a couple of other BS items as a profiling method for traffic stops. Dark windows, smoked taillights (yes I'm guilty), lowered vehicles, and certain vehicles which are favored by the gang crowds, as profiles for traffic stops. But, that said, an '01 Honda Civic with daik tinted windows, smoked tails, and lo-pros is more likely to get profiled and stopped than say an '01 A6 with the same items.

When our Deputies approach cars we HATE dark tint. No telling if it's some nut job on felony warrants with a weapon. Do yourself a favor and next time roll the windows down and keep your hands on the wheel. Makes our lives safer and easier. What are you 16?
