What is the best route from Denver to Salt Lake City? I-70 or I-80?

On 80 you will be running with the trucks, so for the most part you'll make good time, but have to watch for some construction between Cheyenne and Larimie and Rawlins to Rock Springs and through Green River. FYI, I can make in a loaded semi govrn'd at 75mph in about 8.5 hrs across 80. US 40 will be most scenic, also most cops and slowest route, expect 10hrs easily. I-70 will have most tourist traffic, and the canyon run from Green River, UT to SLC is a b*tch.

I travel those ways for work a lot. I have a customer (Bonanza Power Plant) south of Vernal and go 40 quite often. Was on 287 last week and the only construction is up near Laramie. It rained hard and cooled things off on that trip and power was good in the S4. Had a two semi pass where I went from 60 to 120+ durring that pass. Yee haw!
Just can't beat the S4 if you need performance, comfort and AWD in the same package.
