Default Yeah, I figured that I would just get the exhaust later this summer ;)

Plus I get to stare at the RNS-E every day. It should be here tomorrow, so I am pretty stoked. Crazy how the prices have fallen over the past two years. People spent a couple of g's to get these initially!

Default I'm curious what you think a RNS can do that the Garmin can't

I pretty much loathe using my RNS-E, but do just cuz it's there.

Default That's not what I said - but "Integrate with the factory stereo" and "dead-reckon" would probably

be my top 2 answers. You can kinda do the first with the VIB-11 I was talking about, but it's not as seamless.

It's exactly the "cuz it's there" which makes installed units attractive. Putting up and taking down the GPS tends to become too much hassle so either it gets left up ("STEAL ME!") or left in the glovebox and then isn't ready when you need it.

FWIW, "Yes and no" was in response to whether buying a standalone Garmin was better than buying the *maps* for an installed GPS one already owned.

Default Right on

Finally got my Milltek put on last fall, absolutely love the sound that it makes! How do you like your Dice iPod kit?

Default The Dicelink is kind of goofy when controlling it thru the hu.

I set it so I can control it through both the head unit or the ipod itself, but I usually just put it on random and let it choose automatically which of my 60 gigs worth of music to play for me. Does it play music? Yes. Does it have limitations? Yes. Would I buy it again? Definitely. My biggest complaint is the lack of text on the head unit. It reads track 1-99. The hierarchy is a little weird too, but I am used to it now. If you have an Ipod, you should definitely get one.

Default Thanks for the good feedback. Is it going to work the same with the new RNS-E

unit that you are putting in? I have been running a tape converter for a few years now, so I am used to no text, just looking for improved sound. You have any idea if it supports the iPhone

Default It should work with the RNS-E from what I understand - if not I will keep you in mind (more)

it does work with the Iphone 3G, but you have to put it in airplane mode (which kind of sucks)...

Default Good luck with your install!

And I'm still jealous you found an USP avant and I didn't, amazing ride! But I am still stoked on mine too.
