This will offend some, but I think there is a huge # of sh!tty Avs "fans".
I left CO in 1993, when there was no hockey, and moved to Detroit. I grew to be a bit of a Wings fan, though I'm not an ardent fan of any sport or team.
when I moved back to CO in 2000, I seemed to be surrounded everywhere I looked by bumper stickers that said, "RED WINGS SUCK".
WTF kind of "fan" makes his whole statement as a hater? I saw way more of those stickers than I did stickers in favor of the Avs. I took it as a sign that the CO hockey fans got spoiled when they bought a near-championship team right out of the box that developed an immediate rivalry with Detroit. And rather than having a dedication to the home team, too many just jumped on the ******* bandwagon of hating on the rival.

Yeah, some idiot owner got himself in trouble and decided to go hide in Texas. Had nothing to do with the utter dominance of hockey as the favorite sport in the state, except that if you don't put out a good pro product, there are so many other options for watching hockey in MN.
When I was in seventh grade, and our high school team was in the state tournament, they would stop class and roll TVs into every room so we could all watch. This was in 1979 or so...

Maybe you could petition to get Buckley AFB and FT Carson moved to a different state, and then you'd
be rid of all of us Military folk. I'm thinking congressional.... Good luck, but until then, I guess you're stuck with us!
