Default rs6 worth it?

Greetings everyone, first post!

I am very interested on buying a rs6 wagon or rs7. However, usually car manufactures update their cars every few years, so I have also thought to wait as what if a new facelift comes out soon in 2022 or 2023 something like so. However, I have heard that the newer model could be electric or just wouldn't have the same good sounds due to regulations? I am a fan of the good sounding v8. I am wondering what I should do. Is it smart to buy sometime recent or wait?

Thank you

If you think you want an RS6 Avant, get on your dealers waitlist now. Audi is not actively giving allocations for them to the dealers and it may very well be 12-18 months for you to actually get one.

Facelift version likely won't be in N/A till MY2024 I'd say, but could see it in the EU as MY2023. So you if want one, as posted above, go see your dealer and hope they don't have a list of people waiting for their next allocation.

Default rs6 worth it?

Hey everyone first post for me.
Old fart 70 year old guitarist Audi Avant fan. I currently drive a 2018 A4 Allroad complete silver lowered with 20" Hartmann Audi replicas and Michelin Pilots. I drove a loaded 2006 A3 Sportback for the 12 years prior.

To the original poster it was announced just the other day that Audi will introduce an E-tron RS6 in 2023. The rendering looks great to me but that car optioned will likely be 160K, which is more than I want to pay.

I just placed a sold order for a RS6 and I have a COMM # but I'm figuring it will be 12 to 18 months before I see it, so probably be a 2023. Is it worth it? No, of course not! Do i want it? Yes, because it has the utility I need along with good looks and high performance and the usual Audi cool features!

I don't care for the current All Black trend so I ordered the basic Silver with the 22" silver wheels. Also the contour seats because they're more comfortable, more settings & massage, and I plan on having this car for a long time. I'll never track it or anything.

I optioned my car with the high end stereo, sport exhaust for the hell of it and red calipers for a little color, along the with the night driving sensor which could be very valuable driving through the deer populated hills.
Also the divers assistance pkg & extended leather pkg. I agreed with my dealer Boise Audi for MSRP with 5K over which my salesman said was usually 10K but since I'm a good customer. (probably a line)
So I'll end up just shy of $140K plus 6% sales tax but I'll trade my Allroad so that should get me down to 110 + Tax. I'm still working at my Dry Edible beans business here in Southern Idaho and dirt & dust is always an issues, hence the Silver looks better longer. So I'm going to wait patiently and see what happens. Who knows Audi may name some interesting changes to the C8 platform before I get it.

Thanks for reading Happy Holidays to all of you!

This is what is most troublesome about these long lead times. The way things are trending the interesting changes might be removing some things you may have wanted and giving you a less than fair "refund".

that is quite sad. thank you for the info. what I am afraid is that once I finally get my car, then the newer facelift will come out. the wait time is fine, but I don't really like to my car get old even its a "new" car. Useless the next facelift makes the car the a v6, more regulation added on the car, or full electric. I can wait for a new facelift. However if I waitted and the next version is not the raging v8, it wouldn't be too pleasant for me to hear, lol.

A new motor RS6 would not be a facelift...it would be a C9 and I suspect it will come faster than anyone expects and be called an RS A6 e-tron , RS e-tron A6 or A6 e-tron RS or whatever..
I'd be very surprised if they keep the current ICE C8 or C8.5 RS6 even one more year while selling at over MSRP. They've put all their eggs in the electric basket and as 19hole said...if the current RS6 is what you want...try to get one while you can.
The ICE C8 RS6 is a swansong for ICE in general and V8 Audis for sure. Sad but true.

from what I heard is that MY2023 will have the V8. I spoke to my dealer last month. He said that I can get one 6-8months away and that the only option that would be excluded is the wireless charging. February allocations will be for a MY2023

i am too waiting to see the facelift (if it comes)

Yes absolutely worth it. And get one now, who knows if the next one, facelift or new, will be a full ICE. Drive today, you don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring
for what it’s worth I’m 11 months into ownership of mine,I have over 11,000 miles. And I daily drive my RS6 and a Defender which I put over ~17,000 miles per year in that. A lot of driving! Love my RS6

Why wait? In the case of the B9.5 RS5 facelift, the car lost the flat bottom steering wheel option. While not as big of a deal as some cars I have heard of....
like getting thicker particle filters in the exhaust to quiet them down. Cars dont always get better as they are up dated now days. If you want one, dont wait.
