100 Ocate Race Fuel

I have a 2003 Audi RS6 with the APR chip upgrade. In APR program number 4 you can run the car on 100 octane race fuel. I purchased my first tank of race fuel and the car performed extremely well. I just love the performance. Can I run this fuel year round? Is it safe for the car? Should the maintenance schedule of the car be adjusted for running race fuel? Does this fuel cause unusually hard wear and tear on the engine?

It does take a little time for the ecu to adapt but the car just becomes an animal and runs very strong throughout the entire rev range. Of course this depends on the application such as high compression n/a or boost and often the returns still don't justify the investment of $5+ a gallon. With the cooler temps now, I break the tires loose in first on 91 octane so I can't imagine what 100 in the winter will feel like again

The ECU will sense the hi grade fuel and select the full tilt boogie fuel map with no fear of knocking or pinging under full throttle. The turbos love the stuff...
In Germany and alot of europe they have 96-98 octane at the pump so these cars are fine with it.

You should see a definite noticeable difference between the plain old reg pump setting vs the 100 octane setting. How's the tcm chip upgrade from apr workin out for you?

FYI -- 98 in Europe equates to 93 octane here, but I'm sure the RS6 will like the 100.

The fuel costs $3.99 per gallon here in Cleveland and it is sold at a local Speedway station 20 miles from my house. There is a noticeable difference between the 100 octane program with the corresponding fuel and the 93 octane program. I have had the chip for about four weeks now and once I tried the 100 octane, I never went back to the 93. On dry pavement around a curve and on wet pavement with a straight a way, the car will engage the traction loss control program when you put the accelerator to the floor as the tires are attempting to spin. This scenario never happened when the car was used pre chipped. You have to be very careful with the 100 octane as it feels as if the car has more horsepower than you can handle. Even so, I love driving it and will continue with the 100 octane at least through the end of the year.
