45mph to 70mph in 3.1 seconds....

Well, this post started out "45mph to 70mph in 3.1 seconds". And Q2 was....
"Q2: what other cars come close to this.....(who can't you leave in the dust on the highway?)"
My RS6 turned those same 4.3ish 0-60 #'s as yours and all I know is it got repeatedly smoked from any speed by my S600. I won't compare my 996TT since it's chipped to 600 HP and I certainly wont throw the R32 in there as that will dust most anything too but stock to stock RS6 vs. my completely bone stock S600 in a straight line acceleration drag race.

Think I follow you, and I somewhat agree....the RS6 loses a fair amount
of accelaration once it is moving?? Heavy weight, AWD....still surprised a bone stock S600 will beat it from a role....

S600 has same HP and more torque than the 5.5L AMG motor. For that reason MB can't put the
7 speed in the S600. Torque would tear up the trans. The S600 is truly a sleeper. No loud exhaust, no screaming badges that say Look at Me!, just a monster motor, tons of luxury and comfort for 5. It's also interesting to note the S600 is not in fact a 6 liter motor but a 5.5L. Twin turbos however.
S600: 493HP 590/TRQ (@1800 RPM's!!!) 4610 lbs.
S55: 493HP 516/TRQ (@2750 RPM's) 4300 lbs.
Mercedes makes some of the strongest motors I've ever experienced.

I agree..
I love the high revving V8 on the RS4...however, there is something to be said for all all out displacement and torque. That is the one drawback not only to the RS4, but the e92 M3. You really have to keep them above 5000rpm with only about 300 of tq...My next car may indeed be an AMG. The RS4 a fun car to drive, and a great saloon on the track, but on the highway does not have the all out ***** i enjoy in the M5.That is what make me very afraid if they bring over the RS6. I'd just have to have one.
