Just trying to help. The 0A3 hasn't been beaten on like the 01E, and comparing the engineering between the 2, the 0A3 is alot weaker, gear widths are smaller, tooth count is larger, gear teeth are smaller at the root, the case is aluminium, and center support piece is stamped sheet metal. It will be interesting to see how it fairs.

Well there are quite a few people running them in A4's making > 300kw at all 4 wheels and one of them in particular is running a 2.0l A4 with a GT3582R putting down ~360kw at all 4 wheels and he has broken 2 01Es then switched to an 0A3 and has not had a problem since.
Also it is interesting that Audi would change from the 01E to the 0A3 in the S4s and RS4s, must be something to it.
Oh well I guess we will see how it goes. Once I have the 2 joined and flywheel and clutch sort I will post pics.

Working on it, just trying to figure out exactly what I need to do to get flywheel and clutch working etc. Do you know off hand what the offset is from the end of the input shaft to the bell housing? A few measurements I need to do, I just don't want to do anything custom if I can use existing components with maybe a 10 bolt attachment instead of 8 bolt for the B5 S4. Thinking about going something like the tilton twin plate clutch with Light weight steel flywheel.

High octane: tell me about your Labree exhaust. I plug my computer into my 185 watt vintage Pioneer stereo and listen to your youtube vid cranked up at least a few times a week. It makes me crazy.
