Any RS6 owners running methanol injections?
I am seriously considering doing this mod. With my limited knowledge base right now it seems like a very cost-effective way to achieve added hp for around sub $500.
Based on what I've heard/read, it actually would help the turbos run cooler so I don't see how that would negatively impact the car.
Interested if any CPOd cars have this and whether it affected the warranty.

Ka-BLOOY goes the tranny!
Nah, I'm not really sure. But it would sure seem so, wouldn't it?
Let us know how it turns out and be sure to post the pictures of the trans and/or engine afterwards!

Ditto re warranty
If it causes problems, those problems wouldn't be covered. I don't know anything about methanol injections but if they leave a trace or other signs of methanol use, chances are good Audi will find 'em. Keep in mind that fixing the RS6 on your dime can be mighty pricey.
If you decide to proceed anyway, please keep us posted on performance & other results.

Is the RS6 Trans that weak? Almost seems as if you think Methanol/water injection is.......
NOS. All methanol/water injection systems do is mist the intake (after intercooler in most applications) with a mix of water and methanol. This mist evaporates very quickly and in doing so reduces the air temp. It's also refered to as chemical intercooling. Methanol also increases the octane number that's actually going into the engine so it would really help you guys limited to 91 craptane as you can advance timing more. Seems like those who have responded think it's going to hit the trans w/ 100 more HP like a NOS shot. What RS6Lana is talking about is not the same thing. Surprised that nobody on this board is using it, especially w/ how hot the RS6 motor runs. Maybe it's because you guys are still under the dealerships care. Lots of B5 S4 guys are getting into it now and ask me how I know about it. 8^)

Effectively increases the Octane rating? So then it is virtually CERTAIN to result in...
<img src="http://users.informatik.haw-hamburg.de/~windle_c/TableHooters/picts/WarrantyVoid.jpeg">
"Customer's use of methane in the the engine's air intake/circulation system altered the car's power-train performance parameters--including effectively increasing the Octane rating of fuel by >10%--well beyond manufacturer's specifications and warranty guidelines. Transmission failure and necessary replacement is, therefore, customer's responsibility. Cost estimate: $12,000.07 -Audi of America"
Something like that.

Well....
I agree that AOA will probably have an issue w/ it (one reason I prefer older cars that I can mess with) but if they wanted to get technical I can tell you that a methanol system using a 50/50 mixture alone will not increase 93 octane fuel up over 102.
