Default Had mine serviced at 75k miles at dealer, $600

Service labor was $350
parts (two gaskets and a strainer) were $150
6 quarts (litres?) ATF fluid $100

BTW, I believe Audi specifies a special tool to get the fluid level correct. So you may have to go to the dealer for this one.

Default Sounds expensive for ATF

Initial fill is 10 liters, and normal change is 4. Don't know what a "flush" uses, but can it be more than 10?

Dealer might charge 15-25/liter for what you can buy for 5/quart. {Or, just found a coupe sources for the real thing @ 15/liter}.

Drain easily done, refill requires minor gymnastics with a vinyl tube (or special tool).

Default As above, dealer said ATF was $100/qt, which is inconsistent with your experience.

Will take up with dealer again, thx.

Default ATF Change

I recommend Redline D4 ATF but it is $9qt. Pulling the pan and draining overnight uses about 6~7 quarts. A proper flush will take more as it will swap out the fluid in the Torque converter. I am lazy so I change the fluid and do it again a month later to get most of it. More fluid of course but a lot less time. Filling it is easy enough with a pump or plunger with a hose but the trick (not sure how important it actually is but Audi sure stresses it) is the ATF temp which can be read through the OBD port with a Vag-Com.

Default Not all really good synthetics are ESSO ATF LT 71141 replacements

While D4 is a high quality product, Redline does not list it as an LT 71141 or G 052 162 A2 replacement. ATF is replaced so infrequently, and you can get the real thing @ 15/liter...

Default If it is under warranty, use the Audi fluid.

if not under warranty you can use Mobil 1 ATF or Valvoline Mercon V ATF.
