Guess my dealer only sold 13 of the 15 RS6's they received.

Lots of people wish they had one. If they can't afford it it is easier for their ego to say "It's a piece of crap". As the man who only made it half way up Everest said "The view from the top is obscured by clouds. Why would you want to go to the top?".

that way it's easy to be the alpha Audi dog. It's odd when a guy in a SL55 AMG almost wet himself at the sight of my car this weekend--he gushed so much, it was actually a little awkward--but other fellow Audi "enthusiasts" seem like they would have been more content if it had stayed across the pond.
When these post come up, I'm more stunned by the fact that they sold 13 than anything else. I would have never imagined, say 8 mos. ago, it would have been as successful as it has! I also think AoA and the dealers got a little greedy and overestimated demand by a 100 or so, which they will pay for.
Ultimately, I love the car and couldn't care less if the last few go below MSRP. Life is good.

I want to pick one up in 2-3 years, when it comes into my price range. Would love to have one, but I have others things that are priority right now. Maybe when they get into the 60's or even high 50's I can then, think about getting one.

Here Here!
The feeling I still get driving this machine is like no other! The driving, hearing, and seeing experience of the RS6 is the closest I've been to true auto excitement and inanimate coveting. While AoA got greedy, those of us lucky enough to drive these beasts know that Audi really "did us right" with this model. Yeah, we're gonna take a depreciation/value hit, but in my mind, when it comes to automobiles, I'll take this check! All I can say is keep em coming AoA.

but given the fact that dealers(such as the one linked to in the post) wanted non-refundable deposits of ~5k for "a spot" in line, its amusing that they still have cars available. it's an amazing car, and i think posts are directed more at the dealers' practices than at the car.
