Looking for advice: C5 RS6
I am in the process of looking for a C5 RS6 for my daily driver. If you guys have any advice on what to look out for I would greatly appreciate it. I am flexible on prices but I am looking for the greatest value for the money.
Are there any buyers guides out there that I am missing?
Thanks,

Blow two hours reading down. Even low mileage doesn't matter, get as low as you can but it does not
matter in terms of what will break. Every owner has had a different experience of what broke when but it broke...extended warranty is your friend, and the realization that a rare car takes extra cash to maintain it. At 27K miles my car got two torque converters and a transmission...and in that process two turbos due to the difficultly of removing them to drop the engine. My DRC made it to 60K before it failed...others lost it much sooner. I know of two Rs6s that blew trannys at 13K miles. Suspensions parts other than DRC shocks give out often. I am on third set of control arms as of today. Check history but more important take it in to look at all the bushings. You will go through brake pads like water and rotors like peanut butter. Tires last 11 to 16K. Oil changes at the dealer are $180, and $100 at an independent shop as you have to drop the stabilizer bar to get to the filter. Everything is $$. However all that said this car is incredible and worth every damn annoyance and penny of it.

Yes we have a great dealer here and a amazing independent shop that I have my M5's worked on.

Thanks its good to hear some feed back of what the owners are dealing with...and I totally understand the maintenance issues. I have two BMW M5's and a 993, they cost cost cost. But are complete joys to drive. I'll keep reading though the forum.
