Default OK I talked to a local audi dealer parts department and....

They said that Audi didn't make any XM Sat units for 03 cars???? I'm a little confused by that since the car is Sat prepped. Is this the usual Audi dealer BS or is this true and if so how do I get something that'll work?

Default Complete idiots at your parts dept. I do have one I can sell and ship for 1/2 the price of a new

one if you want it. Nene posted a few links to the RS6.com forum that I think somewhere he mentioned the correct part number for the orignal unit...or if nothing else if I can remember I will look at the one I have when I get home tonight and post the number for you if you want a new one ($400) and they can just look up the number. Mine obviously works fine as I had it working before I switched to my new nav unit which is not compatable with the original XM receiver.

Default and he could have saved on the shipping as he pretty much had to drive right by me to get his car

home...I will look up the number regradless since it is in my closet at home. I would suggest finding the links to Nene's install of the XM module/nav unit to locate the location where it goes. I have no idea if the car would come prepped with the frame it attaches to and then attaches to the car with, but you will need to figure out if you do need it to. The unit is located on the driver's side just ahead of the taillight in the upper portion of the fender behind the frame work of the fender behind the wheel arch. It is (way) above and behind the jack mount behind the access door. You have to undo the side and rear trim in the trunk to access the location where it goes. I couldn't see it until I removed the trim panels so I am not sure that unless you know what you are looking for you could tell if the mount is there or not already by reaching up in there with the trim in place.
