The Champion cars have no VIN so never can be made street legal, I was told by Champion personnel. One was for sale about a year ago, though.
I asked about the six speed during an '05 Audi club gathering at Champion. Another guy, a tech who helped prep the cars, said they looked into a consumer version of their switch to a manual tranny for the racers. They determined too much re-programming would be needed; almost everything in the dash, IIRC. Because of that the cost of converting to a manual would be too high. How much, I asked; maybe around $30K, he said (to a group I was in). Just for each tranny; no other mods. So they dropped the idea.
A six speed manual conversion also was done by MTM in Europe (see link; scroll down for pix). They did not follow through with production, due in part to the complexities & expense of the conversion IIRC.
I wish I had better news. Actually it's not really news anymore, so if anyone has learned something more encouraging, please share!

http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5955&highlight= clubsport</a

I forgot about pix I took during my visit to Champion last year, where the FL Audi Club kicked off a rally. In Feb I think.
Today I learned that the car would be "de-tuned" to about 500 hp when sold. If they sold it at current 600+ hp the stresses would make it become "a 40 hour engine," I was told.
