Default Quick Wheel fitment question

Looking at several 19" wheels and read that stock is 19 x 9, ET 35, and also read here that 19 x 8.5 ET 35 would also work.

Would 19 x 8.5 ET 38 work? With 3mm spacers?

Thanks for helping and resisting the urge to FLAME.

Default Width and offset alone don't determine clearance.

The curvature of the spokes play an important role as well in determining brake clearance.

Comparing the wheels you've listed, here's how far from the hub the face of the wheel will sit, relative to the hub.

18x9ET35 79.3mm
18x8.5ET35 72.95mm
18x8.5ET38 69.95mm

Assuming the 18x8.5ET38 and 18x8.5ET35 have identical curvature spokes, then yes a 3mm spacer would be all that's needed to make it fit exactly like the 18x8.5 ET38.
However, a 10mm spacer will make it sit flush just like the stock wheel fits.

Default never mind i just figured it out (I think):

1/2 wheel width (in mm) - ET

e.g., ET 35, Width = 9" (or 228.6 mm)

228.6/2 - 35 = 79.3 mm
