how would a RS6+ **** off regular RS6 buyers if it remained exclusive?
I would be upset if I bought an RS6+ and a regular RS6 was able to match my performance extras for a few thousand euros and get a factory warranty.

...one brand of chip also is covered by warranty (Abt I think). HOWEVER, warranty length in the UK is only 2 years, vs. 4 years in the US (according to prior posts by The Brit).
If I had to choose, I'd go for what we have in the US. These cars are too temperamental, and expensive to fix, for me to accept a warranty of only 2 years.

I know of at least one dealer which will warrantee
O.C.T. chipped RS6's. Just don't want to drive 2
hours (one way) for a service or get stuck with
a major malfunction. 600HP does sound attractive
though!

Chips and warranties both involve risk. My hunch is that Audi tailors both to the market; i.e. when in a market with other cars that have 4 yr warranty but lower demand for chips (like the US), they offer 4 yr warranty. When in a market where chips count more than warranty (such as UK), however, the allow chips but only with shorter warranty.
They don't allow both in the same market because risks of high repair costs that they would have to pay would be too much IMO.
