Powerwise, the E55 is noticeably "stronger" even
after my RS6 had chip and exhaust the E55 felt more RAW...lots of low end power and the car won't stop pulling. If you want the faster of the two, the E55 hands down. Braking and cornering the RS6 was much more fun to drive. Good Luck in your decision...I was in your shoe once and could not decide between the two. Ended up with RS6, sold it and wanted E55, then just decided what the heck...911 TT coupe.

If it matters to you what other people think about your car, get the Merc..
if you want to quietly go about your business blowing everybody away with abandon, then get the RS6.
Five years from now the RS6 will be a cult car and the merc will be ordinary.
