RS6 vs. S4 Questions

I had an S4 previously and it's not even close performance wise....
The RS6 is a 03 model and I believe only 1000 or so were made. It's a beast if you're looking for power. The RS6 pulls a 4.3 to 60 and a 12.6 1/4 mile compared to low 5's and mid 13's for the S4.

Probably a little generous with those 0-60 numbers but yeah...
stock vs. stock the RS6 will walk away from an S4. Either way you won't be disappointed. I would proudly sport anything with an "S" badge.

altho the RS6 may prove to be faster than the RS4 in a drag, there is little question...
...that the RS4 will handily beat the RS6 around a track or in the twisties. the numbers from the Ring on the RS4 are pretty amazing.
after driving 3+ miles of twisties in the RS4, i can honestly say it is more nimble, and more fun for that kind of driving. it doesn't make the same statement as the RS6, which is elegance paired with brute force. but it is more agile.
and i'm curious to see the numbers the magazines pull on the RS4 once real-world testing on broken-in cars is done.

I agree. Different cars and different purposes. That said, if I'm buying a B7 series, I want it
to be WAY MORE nimble than an RS6 versus just slightly, which in the end, I think that's all it will be.
If I want a nimble track car sans ridiculous understeer, I may as well buy an M3, an Elise or Exige or even a C6 ZO6.
As quick and nimble as my R32 is, with all the mods I've done to it, with the weight reduction and all, it's still an understeering pig. No matter what, and no matter the cost (for consumer production) Audi/VW will not build a perfect beast. But, there are some out there.
