Remove the passenger side kick plate - one small screw on lower section and the rest comes out fairly easy. A bit tight as it goes up along the doorsil. Fold back the carpet and you will see the silver box mounted against the firewall (its way back up there - not easy access). 3 bolts hold it in. I actually removed the glovebox as well for better access although this is not required. Aside from the BT unit you will need the 54pin adaptor as well. Some of the experts recommend removing the backup battery as well - which entails removing the entire mounting plate that the Onstar module is mounted to. (the battery is behind the mounting bracket) I chose to just turn it off with VAG prior to removing the Onstar module because getting that mounting bracket out was going to be too much work.
The BT box is nearly the exact same size as the Onstar box so it fits perfectly in the same spot.

<a href="http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6380">On-Star Tech Bulletin</a>
The other tech bulletin is for a covering the sharp edges behind the fuse box. Can't remember the number. Will post it when I find it.
