Will Dunlop M3s 225/45/18s fit the stock wheels?

I will check the size of my Dunlop M3s when i leave work as they are on my car on stock wheels but I
think yours may be skinny. On tire rack it lists your size as an alternate but i think that may be because Audi sold a thinner 18" 5 spoke wheel design for a snow set up for the car. 8.5 I think is the wheel width of the regular 18s which is the upper end of your tire.

Thanks much! I have a set of winter wheels on the Rs6 I am going to put on the A6, and
it has the 225/45/18's on those wheels, which I want to take and put on the stock rims if they are wide enough to fit.

I suspect they will be too narrow - I have 225's on 8" rims, and I think they would
be too small on the stock (8.5") rims<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/rs6/msgs/43472.phtml">Have a look</a></li></ul>

You can't go that narrow on M3's even if they fit because they are not XL rated and the RS6 is too
heavy. Even with 255's you only have 245 lbs. you can put in the front seats without having too much front axle weight per the tire load spec. You put 225's and the car could be empty and you are over the tire load rating is my guess. Plus, you don't want to. It is too little rubber on the road. I have run 255/40/18's on OEM rims for years and they work great. The car is an animal in the snow. No need to go to a narrower tire for supposed safety and better tracking. I just put new M3's on my RS6 yesterday and the car is quiet on the pavement and I know it will get me through anything here in the Rockies in the winter.
