Tire problem on my RS7

Just noticed a bulge about the size of a golf ball on my front left tire near the rim of the wheel. There is a small little nick on the wheel right where the bulge is. i have 5800 km on the tires. Not sure what caused it. I am going to take it to a dealer in Hamburg Monday.
As anyone else had problems with these tires? I have the 21" wheels.

I'm on my 7th Dunlop in 14k miles. Many of them started with the tell-tale bulge. The dealer's position is that the car is fine, the tires are fine, and it's all my fault. Audi corporate in the U.S. says "have the dealer get Dunlop come out and inspect the tire." My dealer hasn't done this, maybe your will. I figure it's a tire/wheel suspension mismatch. New RS7's have Continentals on them.

Bulge on sidewall is typically a broken internal belt/ply from hitting something--pothole, curb lip, etc. Even a sharp edge of a driveway or railroad tracks if pressures are low. Much more likely on low profiles of course, but also check and watch tire pressure.

There's nothing "safe" about a bulge in a tire sidewall.

Low profile tire and the resistance and weight and give of the Audi OEM rim is the reason. Audi and Pirelli have a very close relationship and designed the tire specifically for Audi RS7. Had to wait four days til the dealer matched the tire to my car when I blew out my tire last year.

LeicaNut,
Can you give me the size tire you are using? My car will be back to the states hopefully at the end of August, I better go ahead and order the tires now. I will also have to get wheels and winter tires.
Thanks,
Nelson

Nelson, keep us updated on what you decide for winter wheels / tires. I have to get them too. My summer wheels are 21 in. but I think I'm going to do 20 in. for winter. Do you have the Performance? I'm afraid the large ceramic brakes are going to make it hard to find wheels that fit. I don't know for sure if the ceramic brakes take up more space than the regular RS7 brakes, I just assumed they do.
