that they think it's ridiculous that the rotors are toast after 12-15,000 miles? I still think we should ban together and get Audi to cough up for a free set of rotors. My 2003 S8 didn't need rotors until almost 60,000km's.
Yes, they are $349 each (which is an awesome deal) through the www.genuinevwaudiparts.com website. That is by far the best price I've found.

It was less expensive for me to buy Porsche replacement pads and rotors for my Touareg than it was to buy VW ones. Even the brake wear sensors with a Porsche part number were less expensive than the exact same part with a VW part number.
Go figure.

the left rotor was fine all the way across the disc. The right one had a groove (they couldn't explain why it was wearing unevenly) right near the outer edge that measured 31.94mm. The remainder of the rotor was fine. min spec is supposedly 32.00mm. I was 0.06mm off because of that groove.

Doesn't sound like they are below min all the way across the disc, but only in one small tiny little part.
