Default Oops, I thought you misspelled drop, which you didn't . You were saying droop. My Bad!

I agree that the suspension has to be loaded, weight of the car on the bushings before you tighten the lower shock mounts.

I totally understand what you are saying Shabadoo. My apologies for making the mistake.

I plan to roll the car up onto ramps for the final tighten.

but reread what RS4saloondrivr said - he said it better than I - it's not the load that's important, it's the relative position of the components.

Default I caught that. What do you guys think about tightening the lower shock bolts when the car is on

ramps.

Default I generally avoid placing load on the suspension until everything is properly torqued

Your best bet is to do as Europa described - while the car is in the air (on a lift or jackstands) use a jack to bring the assembly to ride-height and then tighten.

Fluids are generally more viscous at lower temp, so move less freely through the damper and jerk it
