Default None actually...

I told them that when I first noticed the chatter, I did a google search so that I understood that this is a property of the clutch material.

Default IIRC the break-in was 500 miles of very easy driving no

launches and no hard driving, full power acceleration etc, then after 500 miles use the next 100 to begin to push it. The clutch is bulletproof now, I would not go back to stock...

Default The customer told me flat out that he slipped it from day one to smooth out the shudders.

Any puck style clutch will shudder on engagement and those that are not use to this feel may ride the pedal out slowly while getting moving to make it feel more "normal".

This is what caused it to get glazed and then everything went down hill from there. I would personally like to know how the SAC on the pressure plate looks but its a little late to point fingers on if that was out of spec.

There really isn't much more to this than the fact that the clutch was used in a manner (self described by the user) that caused issues. I don't fault him personally for this in anyway as he just wasn't familiar with this style of clutch.

Default Ok, just wondering though..

If this clutch requires a specific driving style, was he given these instructions? If not, how could he have known...

Default We stand behind all of our products.

I think there is some miscommunication between star607 and Jared. Like I asked before, I would like to inspect the Alcon clutch disc. Only after evaluating/inspection can we determine if there is a manufacturing defect.

We do not just arbitrarily issue refunds for goods purchased from us that are said to be defective. We have a return policy and engineering inspection that must be completed first.

Please call me and I can start the process.

707-935-9700 ex 119.

Thanks, Jason

Same here. Some clutches depending on material are very specific about their break in procedure.

Default I actually did no hard driving or launches for the first 750 miles...

I did have that episode of trying to get rid of the chatter in the first day of use.
