In my post above I was telling him to downshift into 2nd and keep there thru slow turns or rolling stops, or changing traffic lights, or any other similar situation.

I have NEVER put a car into neutral under those circumstances, blipping throttle or not. Just depress the clutch in those situations, if you feel a need to.

Hell, you can even start out in 2nd gear in these new 6 and 7 speed MT's.
